Although I wouldn't really put Sturgill in a purely country category (and I mean that as a good thing), I completely agree, and hope he continues to skyrocket.

Still biasedly hoping Cody Johnson takes advantage of that rodeo bump and eventually takes the throne

George is a legend.

There's a ton of great country music out there, but the radio doesn't play it. Radio appeals to teenage girls and douchebags.

Gotta look for the good shite.

My vote is for Chris Knight although one could argue he's not country I suppose.

What would he be if not country? Americana?

It's Dwight.

He's not a great all time artist, but Marty Stuart put out an amazing album last week. I think the people of this board would really enjoy it.

The last country artist to make a decent version of Nashville's bastardization of country was Alan Jackson. The last mainstream country artist to make good music was Dwight Yoakam.

Unlike the Pisco Crickets, Sturgill's music doesn't require drugs to be enjoyed.

Carry on.

If you need a key bump to do anything, the problem isn't the "thing"...it's you, or your mind.

Free yourself from the restraints you've placed on your life.
