I'd say Van although Jim is more of an icon.

Van's songs were better. Van's voice was better. So, I'll say Van.

Jim was the Lizard King. So I'm going with him. I like the hellraisers. They always get the edge from me.

I'll be on the lookout for the Oliver Stone film on Van Morrison. Also, I want dibs on his book of poetry. I also want a "We All Shine On" framed poster of Van Morrison next to Lennon and Hendrix.

Moondance is a better album than anything the Doors ever put out.

As in we are laughing because you guys think Van wins. Jim's legacy is greater. The Doors are about as iconic as it gets.

Van, better writer and singer. Jim, better drinker. So it's a wash.

well since Van Morrison is the man and Jim Morrison is one of the biggest hack douches to ever be involved in rock music i'll give the edge to Van the Man

Easily Jim. I honestly am not a big fan of Van Morrison. His music doesn't really entertain me.

How much "help" did Van have? Anybody contribute?

Jim had Ray and their arguably biggest song was written by the guitarist. So they were a true band.

If Van did all of the writing and composing? Van.
