I don't know if I'd call Sting a crooner. But as far as a singer, Sting.

I don't like sting at all.

Songs should have more than 10 words in them. They should contain more than a chorus.

I do not happen to agree with his opinion, but it is not just his opinion. Many people feel the same about Sting.

Roxanne is one of the worst songs I've heard in my life. How many times does he say her name and red light?

Which portion of the song do you dislike? Here is a link to help you out.

Only the parts where Sting sings the same thing over and over. It just gets old.

I don't care that other people like him/the police. It isn't like I want to tear him down from his ivory tower and convince people he sucks. I just get really bored of his music really quickly.

I liked him when I was younger, like 13-16.

If we count old age, it's Sting. I think Daryl sounds blown out in some of the stuff from his home broadcasts.

I hear you. The Police recordings certainly subscribed to the same model for all of their songs. Some of Sting's solo stuff relied a little less on the chorus and supplied more meaningful lyrics.

He certainly has some good songs. His more popular ones put me off trying to listen to more of him though.

Overall, I like Sting more as a performer. As a pure singer (crooner?...I wouldn't label either as a crooner), Daryl Hall.

Sting vocally couldn't do Sarah Smile justice. I think Hall can pull off any Sting/Police song I can think of, although it's not his style.

ETA: Saw the comments about Hall sounding bad in his old age. In my mind, I was comparing both at the height of their powers...

Daryl Hall in his prime had one of the best male singing voices.

Listened to both growing up. Sting's career is broader by a mile and could hit notes a cloud layer higher. I'll take the Police and his solo work over H&O and DH on his own.

But Daryl is a better singer.

I'll throw another one in there. Go ahead and laugh. But back in the day, I heard some a capella stuff by huey lewis and that dude could fricking sing

I know all their music was 80s cheeseball, but ain't no denying dudes vocals
