...The Fixx?
I remember back in 1983 they rivaled ABC, INXS and Def Leppard in popularity, had a couple of million selling singles ("Saved By Zero", "One Thing Leads To Another") but disappeared completely only one year later. What became of this seemingly promising ensemble?

The same thing that happened to most bands from the MTV days. They had a catchy song or two but no real staying power. Don't get me wrong - I liked them - but I can't see ever buying more of their music or seeing them in concert (at a casino near you)

They're actually playing at The Varsity this Friday night. I'm going to check them out. Loved their first few albums but hadn't listened to the later stuff until this week... I downloaded their last album (2012's Beautiful Friction) and it's surprisingly pretty good.

Yep. The Alarm and Big Country are a couple more from the same era.
