I had posted another thread recently about another Starship song called "Nothing's Gonna Stop us Now", which I think is a great 80's tune, but there's another song by them that, despite the flak it gets, is another great 80's tune in my opinion, and that is " We Built This City".

It may sound super extra cheesy to a good number of people for several reasons, but I think the song is catchy and memorable, and if you love 80's music, there's no reason why you shouldn't love this song. Music video posted below

It is quite possibly one of the worst songs ever, and the video for it is just, well, there are no words for it.

You can't deny it's got a catchy hook to it, although the lyrics are weird lol.

In the late '80's and early '90's...."We built this city on R-N-O....WRNO--We're the Rock of New Orleans!!

It was their tag bumper for years.

Really???? Its not that bad... It got a TON of play back in the day... A great beat to it... You want a HORRIBLE song???? "Bad" By MJ.. Was very disappointed in the effort and hype for such a great song... He was trying way to hard for an artist that good... " I got my mind set on you" By George Harrison is also just brutal...........

Here's a perfect rule of thumb to go by:
Particularly when it comes to food, music and movies, if you find yourself saying "It's not that bad"… it almost always IS that bad.

Better than "Jane" but not quite "Somebody To Love".

Starship was a pleasant pop act while Marty Balin was still in the band. "Miracles" and especially "Count On Me" are nice songs.

It's only after Balin was replaced by the screeching Mickey Thomas and nothing was gonna stop Jane from building this city that things became unlistenable torture.

I'm sorry but "We Built This City" is one of my all time hated songs. It was over played because of marketing genius. That part of the song where your local radio station could plug in their call letters. Free advertising, so naturally they'd over play it.
That aside, it was just 80's cheese but in a bad way. I thought the song blew.

That song has been voted worst of all time in numerous polls. And as bad as it is i still don't think it is their worst song. "Miracles" just grates on my nerves.

Sara was by far the best song off that album. And it was a terrible album.
