Red hot can be included

DMB didnt really explode till late 90's early 2000's
Pantera has a chance to be in this list along with Alice in Chains, Live towards the second half of the decade, and definetly Weezer.

I think of REM as an 80s band. They basically died out in the 90s.

Grew up in the 70's and early 80's and agree with this.

5. Oasis
4. Red Hot Chili Peppers
3. Rage Against the Machine
2. Pearl Jam
1. Phish

Rolling Stone even proclaimed Phish to be the most important band of the nineties.

ETA: It seems like Radiohead should be in there, but IMO they are easily the greatest band of the 00's so I excluded them here.

It was tough leaving Phish, Soundgarden, AIC. IMO I could easily fill out a top 20 of 90s bands without even having to think hard to get to 20. The 90's were the shite.
