I want to be excited, but if its the same show that it was the last six times I saw them, I would just be bored to death. I'll wait until they have a new album out so at least some of the songs will be new

I saw tool 6 times on the lateralus tour so I get what you mean.
I just read someone that this tour was going to be a "unparalleled sonic and visual experience" as in they are using some tech that is cutting edge.
Tool is not a high energy show for the most part bc of maynard's whole "hide in the back in shadows in front of a video screen" so you don't focus on the lead singer thing but they are one of a kind. Also I'm excited bc I haven't seen them since 2002 so it will be a little fresh to me.
....and I saw Primus in 1999 at the State Palace for the Antipop tour w/ Buckethead so I'm excited for seeing Les again as well.

The 2002 Tool show in BR was high energy from both the band and the crowd. Both the 2007 shows I went to were no energy from the band or crowd. The laser show was kind of cool though.

I was front and center for this one. They opened with Cold & Ugly or Third Eye I cant remember exactly. Best one I went to that year.

The only Presale I've ever seen Tool do in the past 12 years has been the recent VIP packages. Other than that, no presales even to ToolArmy members. Perhaps early access Amex Black Card.

I think they opened with Cold and Ugly. Def wasn't Third Eye.....that came after Parabola. I was about to piss my pants so I ran to the bathroom during Adam Jones' drawn out guitar outro licks that usually went on for a few min. As I was wrapping up my piss I could hear the "Think for yourself...." Leary bit start up. I almost broke my neck scrambling to get back to my spot.
I don't know if BR was the best show of that tour or not, but it was probably the best one I went to. Was at Charlotte (outdoor show) and Nashville. The Nashville show was badass too tho. Was right in front of the stage for that one...close enough to hock a lugie on any of the band members if I'd been so inclined. I pretty much just awed at Danny Carey's drumming the entire show. Plus they played Aenima in Nashville....only time I've seen them do that one live.
Still hoping they break out Ticks and Leeches sometime when I'm in the crowd. But I've heard that Maynard hates doing that song because it fricks up his voice.

I hope the tickets aren't already sold out because of scalpers. I'm going to fricking go and I hope Maynard melts my face off.
Oh and how fricking awesome is it that Claypool will be playing alongside?

Would it be advisable to show up at the Smoothie King Center tomorrow morning and buy them in person? Is that possible? I don't want to deal with online bullshite.

How much are they going to be?
