The mecca of all music venues is to open in Houston, TX in the spring of 2016.. no longer are the days where bands hop over Htown on their way from nola to austin..
Introducing the White Oak Music Hall.. this venues sleek design will include a large Indoor stage with balcony viewing and an outdoor balcony that doubles as viewing for the outdoor lawn stage.. it will also have a smaller downstairs stage.. that's right, 3 stages in one venue!
White Oak Music Hall
The only catch is that Houstonians have to bid Fitzgetalds goodbye.. and after looking at the concept for the venue on the website I'm OK with that.

Houston never gets passed over for big tours from what I've seen.
And what about the bayou music center? Damien rice is playing there and not New Orleans.

Fitzgerald's isn't going anywhere; a new promotion company is buying it to bring in new acts.
There will always be a place for small venues.

Bayou music Center is still pretty new only about 2-3 yrs old.. but doesn't hold a candle to this new venue
Up until the past 5 years the Houston music scene was pretty pathetic.. due to the issue that the mayor was targeting musicians when they came here and would bust them and shut down shows.. it's hard to do bookings in that situation.
Just recently there have been a lot more bands coming to town.. but notice they still favor Dallas over houston (which I don't understand)
