Slash/Miles Kennedy new CD

I picked up the latest CD recently and it's got some really good songs on it. Just wondering if anyone on the music board is into this collaboration.
I actually stumbled across their first CD a couple of years ago when Apocalyptic Love dropped. I've become a fan of Myles Kennedy since then, although I can't seem to get into Alter Bridge.
Thoughts?

Their first album was okay...all I've heard off the new one is the single, which I like.
I saw them live at Stubb's and was disappointed in Kennedy, to be honest. The bass player sang a couple songs and was much better that night. Slash was great though.

I'm a huge Myles Kennedy fan. The guy is just a ridiculously melodic guitarist, has one of the best rock voices in the business and is Imho the best frontman in the genre. Which is probably why everybody from Slash to Led Zeppelin have inquired about his services.
Definitely going to check this out.
Watch Alter Bridge Blackbird Live in Amsterdam . Starting at the 4:40 mark Kennedy/Tremonti are masterful. Or the Alter Bridge - "Rise Today" LIVE Billboard Studio Session . If you don't like that you don't like the genre.

I started a thread about a week ago and gave a condensed review on it. I think it's a great album and that Slash has consistently put out solid work since departing Guns. The lineup on these last two albums has a great rapport. This album just "sounds" so good. It's mixed very well.

Sorry....didn't see or search for a similar thread. I agree, Battleground is a really good track. Can't seem to stop playing 30 years to life and track 15 The Dissident.
Saw them in New Orleans at the HOB not long after the release of Apocalyptic Love...they didn't disappoint. Saw that they recently played at the Woodlands opening for Aerosmith....didn't make it since I really wasn't interested in Aerosmith. Hopefully they'll be around soon on their own.
On another note....about a year ago I began following Heaven's Basement (rock band from the UK i believe). Saw them live at the Station in Broussard. Some of the songs on this new Slash CD sound vaguely familiar to some of the Heaven's Basement tracks.....not rip- off familiar. There's just something there....or maybe it's just me.

Isn't Alter Bridge similar to Creed?

Yes, it's Creed with a different singer, another great guitarist alongside Tremonte and, frankly, better songs with better guitar solos.

Alter Bridge musically is nothing like Creed. And if you wanna dig a little deeper with Myles Kennedy, check out his work with The Mayfield Four. Mars Hotel and Summer Girl are great songs.
