The Shinedown show at UNO Last Friday night was very rock concert. With all the GnR talk this solid rock show got lost in this weekend music events. All four bands put on a great show. The nights festivities Started off with Whiskey Myers taking the stage first. Black Stone Cherry took the stage next and rocked the house. next up was Lizzy Hale and Halestorm who put on another very solid rock performance. Finally the headliner Shinedown took the stage and closed the night out with a great set.

I walked out on Shinedown the one and only time I went to see them live. Loved all the opening bands, though (10 Years, Sevendust, and Chevelle).

This was in 2010, The Sound of Madness tour. They were complete sell-outs to me as artists. Instead of playing some of their good music from off of their 2 albums out at the time, they made damn sure to play the shitty arse songs from the Expendables movie and Alice in Wonderland with video screens all over the arena showing scenes from the movies as they did. You would have thought they were getting paid royalties for doing it, it was so over-the-top.

Haven't listened to them since and never plan to again.

They played the songs from those movies because they had just released them as singles. And they played "Better Version", a rarity from Leave A Whisper, their 1st album. Seems like you weren't paying attention

How dare a band promote the songs they just released.

I'll always have a soft spot for Shinedown. I love Brent's voice. Their most recent stuff has largely been pretty poor efforts and a waste of their talent. I really hope they go back to their first three albums and what made them so good.

Lzzy is amazing. They are one of the better live shows going as far as being accurate to their albums. Her vocal talent is stunning. Saw them in Bham a while back where The Pretty Reckless opened. That was an amazing show.

regardless of your opinion on Shinedown, it's worth going to that show for Halestorm iyam.

For sure. Never seen them live & Lzzy has one of the best voices in rock, so that's who I'd be going to see

Lzzy and Brent are pretty good friends. I haven't been able to find the video since, but on the Carnival of Madness tour like 4-5 years ago, Lzzy came on and performed Devour with Shinedown and it was phenomenal.

I probably prefer Halestorm live over the album, just because they take some liberties with songs, extend solos and what not. Plus, any rock song seems just a little heavier live when you get to really feel the base.
