Why? Because you don't consider them that?

I click on iTunes and go to Dance or Electronic category and they're all listed there.

Sorry you don't agree, email Apple?

b/c anyone who knows the music knows what genre everything is. Which you don't even know so you use the blanket term

Yes, because the vocals are the whole reason they are a hit in America, how do you not grasp that? What is on the radio and considered EDM in America is not heavily DJ edited versions, they are "lighter" versions and radio edits featuring the vocals as much if not more than the dance music.

People like it for the collab.

Anyone who knows what genre something is can click on the Billboard's chart, or iTunes chart, or Amazon best sellers list, and see for themselves.

Everything mentioned by me in this thread will be found under Dance or Electronic on all 3 major US websites listed above for music.

ETA: And on that note I'm out to get some work done

you are so fricking lost, the original versions are just that, they are not electronic they are pop if anything or maybe dance. If you go to any show, festival or rave you will never hear the original version that is cut for commercial radio hell you wont even hear it on bpm or electric area which are the big american electronic stations.

Calling it american edm is stupid b/c its not electronic you seem to be mixing genres up. If you want some good quality american stuff by american dj's look into Markus Schulz who is a legend world wide and is almost always in the dj mag top 20 or new up and comers like porter robinson or tritonal.

Plenty of posters here can steer you in the right direction in electronic music but come starting a thread claiming you love edm blowing up and calling shite "american" edm when you are fricking talking about pop or just dance music which both have been around and popular for years is just absurd.
