That exists?

there are definitely some hot TAB shows out there

this one has always been one of my favorites

Trey Anastasio Band, Saturday, 05/31/2003
Warfield Theatre, San Francisco, CA

Set 1: Mozambique, Simple Twist Up Dave, Last Tube[1], The Way I Feel[1], Cincinnati, Black Dog

Set 2: Mr. Completely[1] > John the Revelator[2] > Night Speaks to a Woman[1] > Caravan[2]

Encore: Root Down[3]

[1] Carlos Santana on guitar.
[2] Carlos Santana on guitar; TAB debut.
[3] TAB debut.

Notes: Carlos Santana sat in on a second guitar for “Last Tube,” “The Way I Feel” and the entire second set. Portions of this show including Carlos Santana were officially released on the 2004 DVD Live at The Warfield. The traditional “John the Revelator” and the cover of The Beastie Boys’ “Root Down” were Trey Anastasio debuts. Though it lived in the Phish repertoire from 1990 to 1996, this show also marked the Trey Anastasio debut cover of Duke Ellington’s “Caravan.”

Nice . You seem like a seasoned vet. Where have you been for all the Phish discussion the past few weeks.

oh yea, huge fan, been seeing them since '98. For some reason I just never really checked the music board out. Nice to see that there is some fans here. Will definitely have to start posting more.

Zero interest. I've said this before, but Phish heads turn me off of the band.

I listen to them on my own time, I don't want to talk phish with people. I don't feel like being lectured on the ins and outs of phish.

To be honest I met this cat who is a big Dead fan a couple weeks ago. He was all, "Oh yea, this year and that year and what do you think was the best Dark star? It has to be_____"

Man, I just like them and listen to them a lot. I've got countless shows on cassette and downloaded and on CD's, I've read a handful of biography/autobiography books, I've got Robert Hunters songbook "Box of Rain" I have David Dodd's annotated lyrics. But who the frick cares?

I agree with you a bit, although I get sucked into the threads on here far too much. I just have a huge collection on my pod and plug in and go.

Unfortunately the phish "discussion" usually has very little substance, just 20 page arguments. You do get to hear about some good smaller bands you might not have noticed. And people will post live stream links and the like from time to time.

Cause you love the band and it's fun to talk about and compare favorite shows and jams.

i've always compared it to being a big sports fan. some people just enjoy watching a game and then there are those that love to argue about best ever and can tell you every big stat of the last 25 years

That's a great comparison.

I love the Dead. Only other band that compared in my mind was Led Zeppelin.
But I don't often remember which show had the Scarlet Begonias that I liked the most. And a lot of times people will kind of throw it over you like if you don't know dates of shows then you're not a real fan. That's usually when I get aggravated.

My quote from before wasn't really accurate or fair.

You annoy the hell out of me. And it isn't personal you haven't done anything to me. I just find your posts on this board annoying.

Not to mention there is so much shite to listen to by these bands, if you want to hear a lot of it you can't really listen to the same show too many times.
