this album has overtaken my life hte past several weeks. such a powerful group of songs on this. truly a great album all the way through with a similar vibe and incredible emotion and dynamics.

What is the consensus?

I've never met him...can't comment on that. just judging the album. I don't even know what the guy looks like and couldn't care less

he's indeed a douchebag from what i've heard

(friend of mine did some work with him in new york and said he needs to bathe)

his music is very hit or miss, but when he's on, he's gold.

heartbreaker is the best americana/folk record of the last decade (12 years actually)

i would love to listen to it but Itunes does not have it for some strange reason...I love the style of music on Jacksonville city nights...almost from another era altogether...I understand he has put out a huge volume of music which means there will inevitably be some shite in from time to time...I'm just getting into him and starting wiht whiskeytown stuff and his more country sounding stuff

It's a solid record... ButI would put it behind Cold Roses, if I were ranking the three 2005 releases... 29 was not very good.

Definitely the more country of the three...
