Without Bonham the reunion isn't the same. Not saying Plant is smart in turning down this, but he knows what he is doing

While there is some truth to this, it would still be hella better than several other bands that are doing it with 1-2 original members. (The Who, etc.) LINK

Of course it isn't the same. I'm just shocked Robert Plant had the balls to turn down fricking $800 million.

It's possible he doesn't need the money, and doesn't want to join the crowd of washed up bands doing nostalgia tours.

I'd sure as hell go see them though.

They have done a few shows without Bonham. The one in London a few years ago had Jason Bonham.

This. I don't understand why so many people assume they never played another show after Bonham died.

All of this for sure. I know they have done quite a few shows without Bonham but Page and Jones may finally be at a point where they aren't healthy/young enough to go another round

No way he turned that down. $800 million for shows in THREE cities? I don't believe that for one second.

I would have someone re-approach and explain "money" to him to make sure.

Although not technically a member, there is little question they would do anything significant without "Bonham" on drums - Jason Bonham.

They've said as much. In the 80s - Robert used to joke that at 5, Jason already knew all the songs and on any given night would have been a better drummer than his father, because he was "sober". Sad the great drummer fell so far down that hole - all the way in fact.

And Jason is the dedicated keeper of his father's memory - in more recent interviews - either Robert or Jimmy remarked,

"Jason brings a certain historical knowledge and proficiency to more recent Zeppelin performances - he's listened to every live recording, every bootleg and will ask, 'You want it more like Fort Worth or Song Remains the Same?' and then deliver."

35 shows, though. Honestly, I think he's holding out for a billion.

They'll get it. If someone will pay $800 million for 35 shows, they'll pay $1 billion for 40. Simple math.

Also, Plant is concerned - his voice is shot - for the songs they'll have to perform, anyway, and Jimmy has not help up his end of the music in post-John Bonham Zeppelin performances. So, if he's going to go out, he's going to go out for a cool billion.

Plant must really believe in that Led Zeppelin curse.

When they were rehearsing for the O2 concert, there was one song they couldn't get the ending right. They asked Jason how they used to end that song and he said that they never had to worry about the ending before because they had never played it live.

The man is 66 and probably already has more money than he knows what to do with. If I were in his position no amount of money would be enough for me to do something that I didn't really care to do.

I am assuming that # is for the band, not one person. I mean 50 million a show for the entire band makes no sense, paying it for just ONE member is even dumber. This can't be real.

Correct - Jason would get a set salary, but the $800 million is for Plant, Page and JPJ - so, in the neighborhood of $7 to $7 1/2 million per member, per show, for 35 shows - I think - those are the raw numbers.

Which is still not bad. I'd perform for 1/10th that - to an empty venue of course.
