You really could flip this all up too, honestly I think the music coming out now is as good as any decade.

It is tough to tell. One benefit the older decades have is that a lot of the crappy music from those eras isn't played anymore, while the more recent decades haven't had that thinning out process yet.

80s when alternative music was still alternative.
70s lot of great music but gets knocked out of #1 cuz of disco...punk did get started then
60s Bob Dylan did his best stuff then so.....
90s alternative became a marketable genre and started sucking....still some good bands though.

its certainly easier to tell now than anytime in the past with spotify, youtube, pandora, etc.

You can find the best music of any decade very easily or find things overlooked.

I rarely listen to shitty music these days, when it used to be commonplace growing up.

To me depending upon how you look at it, most people will rank this as what is THEIR most memorable and how they relate to music. That being said, here is mine:

1980's High School Years....enough said!
1990's
1970's
2000's
1960's
2010's

The gap between the 80's and 90's is even closer than the gap between the 60's and 70's.

I tried to do this, but it was too hard. I will say I liked the 2000s a lot more than most people here.
