I'd heard just about every cover mentioned except 3 or 4.... except for maybe Joe Cocker's "Bathroom Window", I'd just as soon not hear any of them again. WTF was Fats Domino or his producer thinking by recording Lovely Rita the Meter Maid?? respect for Fats but he just sounds stupid there.
But... have to admit I was pie-faced when I just checked out Emmylou Harris's, "Here, There, and Everywhere". Everyone I've heard try that song not only failed miserably, (John Denver & Jose Feliciano come to mind) but Celine Dion's version was a heinous desecration of music. I guess I shouldn't have doubted but Emmylou's version is just breathtaking.... a quick reminder of why she's one of very few legends w/careers spanning six decades along w/names like Cash, Wonder, Miles, McCartney, Sinatra, Dylan... just wow..
