The only Bisco show I've seen was 4.25.08 at Tipitina's. They didn't go on stage til 3:30 in the morning and played til 7:30 am. I was a freshmen in college and had some great mushrooms. It was radical.

They haven't been to NOLA since that show. WTF? Why haven't they played here in 5+ years? And Phish hasn't played here since 1999! frick!!! Instead we are stuck with excuses for bands like STS9 and WSP.

They just sound like another Tribe to me

There's a big difference. STS9 isn't a jam band. The Disco Biscuits are the epitome of a jam band. Each time they play a song, it has a completely different jam than the time they played it before. No cookie cutter nonsense at all. They play into and out of different songs and you never know what kind of setlist you're going to get. DB also has a very legit guitarist. Barber is one of the best out there and his originality sets them apart from other "jam bands" that just play the same shite every show. So no it's nothing like Tribe.

you should actually see a show

that show was terrible. worst bisco show ive ever seen

You missed the boat man. They played NOLA 11-12 times between 2001 - 2008. 2009-2010 DB tours were some of the best live music I've ever seen in my life Ever. They just stopped touring to NOLA once they got mega rich off camp bisco plus barber's family is loaded.

both those bands would be decent if they actually got a real guitar player

I would have liked that Camp Bisco with Ween and LCD Soundsystem.

camp bisco's lineup was still better than wakarusa's. it's definitely geared more towards people that like EDM. i didn't go. I went to the shows in Boulder which were spectacular. Definitely better than the cookie cutter phish 3.0 crap i paid to see.

You don't play an instruments do you? I hate to break it to you but Barber is a 4th tier jam band guitarist.

Let me reword... TDB is a 1st tier jam band.... In terms of guitar players in the scene, he's a 4th tier player...

agree to disagree. His style is really good for that band. It doesn't translate well to other bands like Galactic for instance. I definitely think there are other guitarists that are better. ie. moe. bros, jake cinninger, warren haynes, derek trucks, santana etc.

I 100% agree with you.

Jeff Raines definitely isn't a 1st tier player but it works Galactic.

The lead guitar players for Dopapod and Earphunk are pretty bad arse too.

What tier did the Kudzu Kings fall into? They were pretty popular with the hippies in the mid 90s...
