I think of Yes with Trevor Rabin the same way I think of Van Halen with Sammy Hagar. These lineups were built for pop success with completely different songwriting and sound. In both cases I prefer the classic lineups but I don't judge which versions were "better" because I see the classic vs pop lineups as different bands with their own individual appeal.

Interesting comparison...but from a live standpoint, Rabin-era Yes didn't abandon their back catalog as much as Hagar-era VH. If I went to see Yes with Rabin, I'd still expect to hear several "classic" era songs in the setlist. With Van Hagar, you'd hear maybe 3 Roth era tunes if you were lucky (one of those songs being a cover tune), and not to mention Hagar often treated those songs with mocking contempt. Things changed with both bands, but IMO it was alot less jarring with Yes & Rabin...

I also like It Can Happen the best off of that album.
