OK guitarists...I need some advice on Ibanez choice.

I need to get my mind off of the game. I was going to take a trip to Cali and ended up canceling so I wanted to take the money I was going to spend on that trip and buy a new guitar.
So do you think the Ibanez Prestige is worth the extra money? Is it worth the extra $900 over the basic S-model?
S5427 = $1799.99
Wizard-7 5-piece Maple/Wenge neck
Mahogany body
Rosewood fretboard with off-set Pearl dot inlay
Jumbo frets with Prestige fret edge treatment
ZR-7 bridge with ZPS2
V77 (H) neck pickup
V87 (H) bridge pickup
Volume, Tone and 5-way switch
Cosmo black hardware
Hardshell case included
Or...I could get a lesser S-Model and upgrade to Dimarzio Liquifire and Crunch Lab pickups for $150.00 and probably have a better sounding guitar over the V77/87's in the above guitar.
S7420QM = $899.99
Mahogany body with a quilted maple top
3-Piece maple Wizard II-7 neck
Rosewood fretboard with jumbo frets
AH17 neck pickup
AH27 bridge pickup
ZR 7 bridge w/ZPS2
Pearl dot inlay
I do have a 10-year old RG7620 which has Dimarzio's so I'm somewhat familiar with how the top guitar's pups will sound. I also have a Jeff Loomis Schecter with active EMG707's which I think the pups are a little TOO hot...especially with clear channel stuff.

I sold ibanez guitars for years. Dig the S series. The 5427 has the better neck and the offset dots. If those and the pickups are worth the extra 1k to you then get it.
On the other hand, it seems like the other guitar and upgraydded pickups would get you a better sound for less. Sacrifice some feel for some sound.
If I had the extra 1k to blow, I would get the 5427.

I have the money. After all...I originally posted this on the OT...which makes me an OT baller.
I need something to serenade my OT10 girlfriend.
I just feel like there's something missing with the Prestige. They have prestige fret edge treatment. A 5-pc over a 3-pc neck. Better pickups which are easy to replace. Again, I'm just having a hard time seeing $900.00 in those few differences. Heck, maybe I'll get both.
I could get an RG and an S for the price of the S5427 Prestige.

I said serenade my girlfriend, not marinade my girlfriend.
And I don't have a girlfriend. Two jacked up marriages.

If you are truly OT ballin go order one from Soulmate guitars or McNaught guitars.
Again, if these are the two options and money isn't an issue get the 5427. You don't need the RG AND the S, and you will appreciate the upgraded features for as long as you have the guitar.

Unless for some reason you are dead set on ibanez I would consider a Fender. For that amount of money you could get an American made fender that is of better quality and sounds a lot better IMO

I have flirted with idea of getting an ibanez myself. I feel like i need 24 frets and a trem bar.

I have always hated Ibanez for no reason at all.

That's understandable. What I like about them is that at least they keep trying to improve on the floating trem system while every other premium guitar company just throws an original Floyd in the guitar and calls it a day. And, most premiums use neck through bodies. My schecter is neck-thru but a flat smooth finish. It's much bulkier than my RG, decent sound.
I will probably buy a nice American strat one day for the sound.
What do u play?

Here's some advice:
Don't buy an ibanez

I would take theDoc's advice. He routinely sells out shows at the Varsity so he knows what he is talking about.

Ah that's funny coming from the guy who plays the skin flute.

What is YOUR problem?
You came in here flaming me
Fender/Gibson/Rickenbacker are the standards for guitar brands
Not shitty Indonesian ibanez's

And you know it's funny, you don't play an instrument but you want to come into a thread and try to flame someone who's played music for 18 years?

I think I know enough about music and guitar to have a respectable opinion on the matter, especially in regards to sound.
I agree with Fender and Gibson.
