According to a tweet send out by A Perfect Circle’s official account, neither APC or Tool will release new albums in 2017.

As always, I take all Tool news with a grain of salt. They thrive on tricking their fans.

their music is incredibly complex, I completely believe it takes a long time to put out an album.

Son of a bitch. Didn't APC just indicate about a month ago they were going to release one this year?

I read an interview with their old bassist and he said he got tired of playing the same riff 10,000 times in practice for recording. They have had their current bassist for 20 years now and it appears he doesn't mind it. Although I could see how that kind of repetition could get monotonous.

I actually just recently found the APC Live at Redrocks albums. They'll have to suffice for a few more years I guess

This is laughable. Devin Townsend, Steven Wilson, Mikael Akerfeldt, Meshuggah, etc are all capable of consistent output as complex as Tool's.

How angry can you be when you are Maynard living in your Arizona vinyard.

Probably getting another pucifer album.

It's all a cashflow game. Tease new record, announce tour, play same set of songs from final two records with one song each from first 3, go away for a while and live on the riches, rinse, repeat.

I love Tool, but it has been long enough now that a new record no longer excites me. I went to the last show, and it was technically sound as always; however, it has become redundant due to the predictability of the setlist.

APC can EAD. I wasted money going to see them at the Red Rocks a few years back only to watch them play an emotionless, boring set of their remix album. I wish that were a joke.

I saw APC in Austin a few weeks ago and they definitely played 2 new songs. And at the end of the show Maynard said "We'll be back soon... there is more coming"

So Allen Iverson was their old bassist?

Looks like they whipped out Eulogy last night. I haven't researched, but I'm guessing a solid 10 years since they've played it live.
