New album is streaming on NPR's First Listen:

ETA: DAMN, the outro in the first song is insane. Love it.

Wish they would come back to NOLA

According to Howlin Wolf calendar, Built to Spill is playing there on Sunday, May 17.

I saw them at Howlin' Wolf in 2008. Was a great show and the first time I had ever seen them. Meat Puppets opened for them, which was also very cool to see.

Of the dates posted, there's a gap between 4/20 Vegas and 5/9 Atlanta

Well.....after 4/20......recovery.....Got my tix....will be the 4th time to see them. They can sometimes spend too much time tuning and messing around between songs.

Gonna give this some run as soon as I can. FYI.. they just re issued most of their earlier albums on vinyl.

I haven't listened enough to say exactly what I think of the album, but I know both the opener and closer are great. Anyone else listen enough to get a good opinion?

I definitely like it better than There Is No Enemy. I'm still not sure though on where it ranks. I agree that the opener and closer are great. The closer is the first time I can think of that they incorporated a jam in a studio recording that they usually do in the live setting. I think it works well. I also love Living Zoo. It's a keeper for sure. I'm still unsure about the rest. Need to give it several more listens.

All in all, it's great to have another record.
