Need help with a Crosley CD Recorder

My wife borrowed this recorder to transfer her albums to CD. Processes fine until the last step when she presses the "finalize" button. Does not complete the finalize step. As long as you leave the CD in the machine it will play what you record but put it in a CD player and it shows up as a blank CD. Do any of you have any experience with this?
