If you think RHCP and Jane's Addiction are anywhere near their prime, then you have a shitty taste in music.

So bands have to be "in their prime" to be a headliner? Paul McCartney is nowhere near his prime but I think everyone would agree that he IS a headliner. The same could be said for Neil Young. Jeez you've got to be a piss poor person to hang out with when it comes to music. I saw the RHCP at ACL this year, and yes, they put on a GREAT show. It was way better than I could have expected and definitely worthy of a headliner spot.

That being said, these types of acts have always been and will always be headliners. So I'm not sure what point you are trying to make about them.

RHCP without John is not really RHCP

I would love to see Jane's Addiction. The new RHCP album was cynically bad, though. I don't judge on a band's age or tenure, just their quality

There is a thread on Phantasy Tour just like this one, word for word almost.

Agreed. Their music without him is mediocre to bad. I actually like Josh, but he is a producer more than a guitarist.

I saw that. If you look at timestamps this is the OG.

Also, folks over there agreed

One key exception is a band hosting their own festival. That is a great gesture to their respective fanbase.

The RHCP were the RHCP before John.

C'mon, BSSM and beyond is what people think of when it comes to the Chili Peppers (with due respect to Slovak)

Well I don't. I was a big fan early on. After BSSM huh? One Hot Minute? I'm with You? Now if you want to say their best work is with him that's fine I suppose but Mother's Milk is better than anything off By the Way or Stadium Arcadium.

Yeah, I'm probably sounding like THAT guy but that is the gospel if you consider yourself a fan of their work.

Do you need any freelance work for lyrics? I've got some good ones.

I just miss back in the day. In like 2008, when festivals really meant something.

You know?

I don't feel like doing the research right now but I guarantee the amount of festivals in the U.S.A has grown by 75% since the year 2000.
