Metallica's self titled album gets way too much hate. Its one of the three greatest hard rock albums ever.

You can make that argument about the later albums, but the black album is just as great as any of their first four.

I get what you mean Brosef, but can an album that has sold 16 million copies and received positive reception from critics really be considered underrated?

Sure, the die-hards hate it because it sounded too mainstream when compared to the underground sound at the time, but I can't think of many people that legitimately think it's a bad album. Plenty of people hate it and resent it for what it came to represent in terms of Metallica's overall shift in style and sound, but deep down I think most still acknowledge it's quality stuff.
