Heard Sigur Ros. Needed a half dozen anti depressants to snap out of it.

Albums just generally dealing with and convey the feelings of sadness, loneliness, heartbreak, death, depression, that sort of thing.
See
Smiths, The
Morrisey
I'm not a big country music fan at all but I do like some of the old school country as well as some of the artists from the 80s and 90s.
Keith Whitley - Keith Whitley's Greatest Hits -
you'd be hard pressed to find a more sad album. Some good songs but you can hear the depression in his voice. The songs are all the more sad knowing he died from an alchohol overdose.

My wife told me when Radiohead's "In Rainbows" was playing in the car that it sounded depressing.
I thought it had a great production sound to it. the "depressing" that she spoke of was not what I was listening for.
It took a few listens for me to not listen to what the instruments were doing and focus on the lyrics to see what she meant.
I still thought it was a good album.

Tori Amos used to churn out the sadness, angst and victimized.

Nothing uplifting about either of these two.

Pink Floyd "The Final Cut"
Depressing yes, and simply not good music wise either; I don't think anyone would object to this being called the worst Floyd album, and least from a 'music' perspective.
But you need to hear Lou Reed- Magic & Loss.
Album is about a couple of his friends dying from cancer; depressing? Yes, but at the same time, great album, one of his best.

Beck - Sea Change
Agreed, and some of his best work too.
Ill submit Alice in Chains Jar of Flies. The only album where Staley was off drugs and deeply depressed. It was so depressing they gave up recoding and released the album with only 7 songs.
