I think I missed my shot at ever seeing Metallica live. They really only play huge venues now and a lot of those are out of the country. I wish I had seen them in New Orleans.

That is exactly why I have to make this trip, it is hard to catch Metallica now

I've heard Hetfield say they only want to play huge, high paying festivals now. Its a shame they're so greedy, they only play one or two US shows a year. Maybe this is the start of a tour but I doubt it.

Metallica was known for being road dogs for almost 2 decades. Grueling tours were the norm. I can understand their reluctance to play many mid-sized engagement compared to a few large engagements. I wish the folks who do Bayou Country Superfest, or someone similar, would try sand put together a show with Metallica and a couple other acts. I think it would draw a crowd from all over the Gulf Coast.

You mean like when Voodoo got Metallica to step up when Green Day had to back out in 2012?

Metallica also came here twice in the last 11 years to the NOLA Arena, which is more than most mainstream rock acts, who won't even come once.

Godddddddddd. If I could put together a 3 band show, it would me Metallica, Avenged and TOOL. Volbeat was killer in Utah when I saw them two years ago. I'm probably going to make this trip from Denver. I last saw Metallica in NO in 2004, I'd hate for them to hang up their guitars and not get the chance to see them again.

Saw Volbeat at the Tabernacle in ATL a few years back and they were great. They do a fantastic show.

Word is Metallica will tour American arenas next year when the new album comes out.

I saw Volbeat a few years ago open up for Megadeth & they are just God awful. But they are all tight with the guys in Metallica so they get the gig.

Sucks we'll never see a concert like Seattle '89 again.

No doubt, Tingle. Metallica in the 80's was not a band, it was a machine. Most people today do not realize how amazing Metallica was back then.

Not a big A7X fan, but Volbeat and Metallica would be awesome live in a huge stadium like that. Missed out on the stadium tours of Metallica when I was a kid...

How can you say Volbeat is shite? I wasn't a fan of them when I saw them live, but their performance was phenomenal. I wouldn't go just to see them, but to add them to this lineup is icing on the cake.

Love Metallica but I think both Volbeat and A7X are both pretty lame. Never seen either live though.

I blame Napster. I had every single one of their tapes/CDs until Lars became a gigantic douche. Just based on that, I put them all on BearShare/Morpheus/Limewire, and let them go to the masses all day long
