Live musicians - new ideas for cover songs
Posted by olddawg26 on 3/2/17 at 11:17 am00
Looking for some rarer song ideas that have worked to get the crowd into it.
Spare me your sublime, journey, sweet home and stuff, looking for maybe more one hit wonder stuff that people may have forgotten about but will get into if we play it.

We used to play the crap out of Sweet Jane (Velvet Underground). That one can get as rowdy as you want and is fun to lay.

The Wild Side of Life- Waylon's live version is pretty upbeat
The Whiskey Ain't Workin Anymore- Travis Tritt
Heard both these this week...pretty good songs most folks have probably not heard in a while

Light Up or Leave Me Alone is pretty easy
Violent Femmes - Add it Up
Lindsey Buckingham - Holiday Road (there may have been a NOLA band that used to play it)
Eta: Wild card: Michael Bolton - how can we be lovers
I'm assuming you are a party band willing to sarifice your musical cred for a good time.
