He's absolutely saying "oscillating on the ground....". That part isn't debatable.

Well simile, but this is actually the very reason the song is irreconcilable.

The name of the song is Trani, and the verses are easily interpreted as involving transvestites doing whatever it is that transvestites do:

Dirty belly of a secret town
Cheap trick hookers that are hanging out at the bar
In the Greyhound station
And the bare-chested boys are going down
On every thing that the momma believes


But then in the chorus. He doesn't refer to a transvestite directly, but rather says
"like a Trani on ten." Moreover, as I mentioned before, he says "oscillating on the ground; blowing white noise sound." These are not things that a transvesite would do. And so, in the chorus, he's pretty clearly not making reference to a transvestite either directly or through the use of metaphor.

And so what the hell is he talking about?

And it's at this point where someone will opine that he's talking about a transistor radio. Okay okay: oscillating, check. White noise sound, check. The only problem is that the rest of the focking song is about ladyboys doing devious things at a bus station.

I think the song might actually be literal gibberish. And in fact I think Caleb Followill has acknowledged that he's written other songs that don't make any sense, but that just have a bunchof words he came up with when he was really drunk.

And yet here I am: getting annoyed by the Trani lyrics. Not sure why that one bugs, but it does.

I should note that it could be either:
- Trani on ten, or
- Trani on tin


I didn't mention that initially because both versions can be interpreted as sensical in the context of a radio, but both are nonsense if we're talking about one of the ladyboys at the bus station.
