Anyone else a fan of these guys? I may be going against the grain here but my favorite album is the one that goes against the grain of the normal stuff—Stoned and dethroned. Great stuff.
Anyother fans?

Stoned and dethroned was solid. But the end all was pyschocandy. Granted I haven't listened to it in a while.
Automatic was also really good.
I missed their show in Denver that was psychocandy, ended up being out of the country. I was pretty disappointed as I saw them in NOLA in 92 with spiritualized and Curve. Great show, although I recall the power going out a few times.
But a lot of times the reunion shows are just meh. But I heard they really wailed.
I wish Ride was hitting denver on their tour. They were amazing live when I saw them in Dallas in 91.

I love those guys. Love. Love. Love. They're so underrated. They wrote all these great pop songs and just slathered feeback and noise over them. Plus, they just looked so cool and absolutely didn't give a frick abut the audience. That's rock and roll.
I really regret I've never seen them live. Had tickets to see the reunion show in New Orleans in 2012, but it got delayed because one of the Reids had visa issues. The show was rescheduled for a few months later and I couldn't make it.
Honey's Dead is the record that really got me into them. Far Gone and Out is a personal favorite and Reverence was the song that I woke up to for 6 months. I got into Psychocandy and Darklands arse backwards.
shite, there's some great stuff on the latter albums, like Munki and The Jesus and Mary Chain Hate Rock and Roll.

Darklands is what turned my head to the chain. Great, great album.

Just saw them live a month ago. They played Psychocandy in its entirety. That's their best lp IMO.

One of the more underrated bands of all time. So emotional, yet so cool. Actually, I'm not crazy about Psychocandy. But Automatic, Darklands, and Stoned and Dethroned are incredible.
I will not take seriously any "Best Things to Come Out of the 80's" lists that exclude them.

I'm in the Darklands and psychocandy group. Those two are my favorites.

One of the elite bands in my all time favorites list. To this day I still put them in my rotation. They have been extremely influential to the music scene, yet so many people don't know or realize this.
Darklands is my favorite, but there is not one single record that isn't good. Even Munki is tight, though I didn't appreciate it as much at release as I do now.
I had the privilage to see them three times. First at Lolapalooza '92 (one of the greatest musical experiences in my life: Lush, JAMC, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Red Hot Chili Peppers and my personal fav MINISTRY!!!!!).
The second time was for the Munki tour at HOB. This was a crazy experience, because one of the Reid brothers left the band the night before after they had a fist fight on stage. There were signs out front of HOB stating only one would be playing, and they were offering refunds. I was fine with it, so I stayed. Was still an amazing show, but you could tell he was full of sadness and was lost on stage without his partner.
The third time was for the '12 tour. It was delayed, but the wife and I went to the rescheduled show. It was very good, but definitely not the same as 15 years ago
