"Not the Only One" for me. Really good album. I put it right with Luca Brasi 1 but behind Luca Brasi 2 and By Any Means.

Gates has been in a slow but steady decline since Luca Brasi 1. Islah is pretty bad.

Gotta disagree, he really snapped on the majority of this album. Loved most of the beats as well

I also have to disagree. As someone who's worked with Kevin very heavily over the years; I am slightly biased but I can definitely see and feel that the music has declined from Luca Brasi 1. But honestly, that tape was just GREAT. And I really think Islah gets back to that. I've had it in on repeat. It's not the same style but all artists evolved and change over time. Music isn't stagnant nor are the people behind it. There will be ups and downs. But Islah I think is another great album and I'm very pleased with how it came out.

It really was. I still listen fairly regularly.

Islah might grow on me, but as of right now it is definitely my least favorite project of his. I'm interested in what he has in store. I want to see him work with Percy, starlito, and mista cain again.

Yeah I don't see the Percy thing happening. A collaboration with Mista is likely and more with Lito is highly probable. They've been regularly featuring each other on each other's projects since they met doing the By Any Means tour (I think it was that one? Too many tours)

Yeah despite this being a "music board" people aren't open to the genre. Plus add in the fact the age demographic that post here

I can kind of agree with you on that Coco.. My perception though is this: is that the barrier to entry into the market is higher in other genres. It seems like just any ol rapper with a catchy hook or dance has a legitimate shot of making it through the door; whereas in other genres that's just not the case. I could be wrong.
But that's where the kinds comes in. There's a lot of great rappers and even if their story isn't like your story and thus the subject matter is different doesn't necessarily make it bad. There's a lot that goes into to the art form that truly talented artists put in.

Gates isn't really my thing, nor do I get the hype, but I won't bash someone for liking it.

Kinda like how I feel about drake as well.

Fetty wap, young thug, etc I will say they are awful. It seems as though a lot of what's popular is often bad and lacks substance. Kinda like how The Weeknd and Bryson Tiller and Drake are the most popular in modern R&B. I personally think Miguel and Frank Ocean offer much more and are more talented, but they aren't as popular.

I can see Fetty Wap being called garbage. How much of young thug's music have you listened to because I love his music and I think if you listened to a project as opposed to his radio songs you might like it more. He definitely has a different style that may not click with people but I really enjoy it. It takes a while to get used to.
