Japandroids killed it on Letterman last night

He has literally the worst guitar tone of any touring band right now it's just god awful
He puts so much into his music, but I can't help be bored with that song they did.

I thought they were pretty awesome at the moon. lots of energy.

Sorry but I did not enjoy that. I really dislike what I've heard from japandroids so take this for what it's worth:
They did not kill it. Their instrumental performance really wasn't that great. Especially the guitarist. Though that may be due to the song which had few redeeming qualities in the way it was presented.
To me it sounded like a two piece blink 182 tribute band trying to reproduce Buddha or Cheshire Cat.
They're not my cup of tea, but I wanted to throw out a short analysis after listening to them once more.

I saw them live in St Louis last year. I couldn't make out any of the vocals. And yes, the guitar tone more resembles noise than melody
