They now have a discover option on it that introduces you to new bands that sound similar or have connections to the ones you currently listen to. I've found two new bands that I really like in the past week

Oh i haven't tried it in a very long time. I usually just download whatever. Or listen to it on youtube if it is famous enough.

I enjoyed it. A striped down intimate sound. Stockholm is one of my favs, and Yevette, and Relatively Easy, and Elephant are very strong songs as well.

"Remember him when he was still a proud man, a vandal's smile a baseball in his right hand, and nothing but the blue sky in his eyes."

I don't know if you can sum up the hopefulness of youth before real life kicks you in the balls better than that.

nice line... Big Star's "Thirteen" may give that sentiment a run for the money...

I may give it a listen, Ive generally been bored with his solo work... but its getting good reviews

I'm wondering if this is down to his sobriety... spotifying it right now

Well he wrote some of his best in DBT while drinking. I think it's less about sobriety and more about getting his life back together post-DBT. I think he had to get sober to do that though. So my guess is both yes and no

im guessing a little less pressure than when he first went out on his own too, plus more experience creating an album instead of just a couple songs for one, all coupled with getting his own head straight is a big part.

with DBT a lot of his best was, yes while drinking, but when his life was in a fairly upward trajectory still. it seems like he is back in that upward trajectory.

ive said it in a few threads but theres a lot more clarity and vision to the final product. i cant imagine the two are unrelated.

I think its a good record and all, but..... IMO I feel like several of the tracks sound like they we're taken straight from a Ryan Adams record...i mean does "Stockholm" not sound exactly like "Answering Bell"

once again I'm not bashing, overall it is a good record

He and ryan Adams have been very close, especially the last year, so I'm not at all surprised

As much as I love the album and the song, Super 8 sticks out like a sore thumb on the album and throws the whole mood off. He probably should've kept it as a b-side or something but I'm old-fashioned and like to experience an album as more than just a collection of songs.

He pissed off some more people?

Thanks for the heads up, big fan of his but I don't really keep up with musical releases. Will listen to tonight.
