Andrew Loyd Webber somehow used a similar melody for several songs and it still works.

Very very good.

IMO the Good the Bad and the Ugly is better, I also like Les Mis a lot. POTO very good tho

Billy Joel's Moving Out is pretty good as well.

it is by far the greatest musical of all time.

it's also the most successful entertainment venture of all time.

People joke that ALW comes up with one decent tune and stretches it into a whole musical.

Evita: Oh What A Circus / Don't Cry For Me Argentina (This is fairly subtle)

JCS: Strange Thing Mystifying / Peter's Denial; Judas's Death recalls Heaven On Their Minds, Blood Money, I Don't Know How To Love Him (These are pretty obvious)

I love what he did with those. Phantom will always be my favorite though.

Phantom of the Opera by Iron Maiden is damn near perfection!

by far? no. it's fantastic. but to say it's much better than les miserables is wrong. It's hard to say one is far better than the other.

Great musical. My personal favorite is Jesus Christ Superstar, though. He was only 22 years old when this was released. (Many don't know that it was a musical rock opera album before becoming a play/movie).
