I have an opportunity to see them in a few weeks. Was wondering if they are worth missing a Saturday worth of football for.

Who do yall play? All depends on that. Yes they are a great live band and put on a really fun show.

One of the best live shows I've ever seen, all 5 times I've seen them. Ketch Secor is a consummate showman and can work a crowd like nobody's frickng business.

I caught them about 5 years ago...it was a great show. I'm assuming that that hasn't changed.

Do they just play Wagon Wheel on repeat?

They are talented, can all play and sing

BUT

the act itself is very hokey, with little dancing routines around the stage. Wouldn't go back, a little too hee-haw for me.

I've never once seen them do what looked like a dancing "routine." Yea, sure, different members dance at different times, and Ketch is dancing all over the place pretty much all the time, but it's just kind of "in the moment" dancing. It's not like they're the fricking Rockettes, or something.

they did little choreographed dancing bits at the show I saw. Sorry that upsets you so much.

It's just not my thing.

I've seen them a few times and it's a good show. They did well when they opened for Avett Brothers in New Orleans a few weeks back.

It doesn't upset me in the least. I guess we just have a different definition of the word routine. To me it implies a lot more than 60 seconds out of a 2 hour show, but maybe my definition is conservative.

They are very good live.....although the frontman tries a little too hard to relate the area they are playing in. It was obvious a few years ago he didn't really know what the frick he was talking about when I saw them.

I saw them back in 2004 and 2005. I feel like I knew about them 3 years before that Wagon Wheel song started to become overplayed.
