Jason Newsted and Robert Trujillo have played bass for the band for the same amount of time as of now. This is weird to me growing up in the 90s.

Who helped write their hits though?

Newsted is credited with co-writing 3 Metallica songs. Not sure what your point is?

What's more interesting is that Trujillo came from Ozzy's band, then the next summer Newsted played for Ozzy's band on Ozzfest.

Weird. I have been listening to a lot of Metallica lately. Went down a rabbit hole on Youtube the other night and have been stuck on Metallica ever since

Neither. It's weird to me because I got into Metallica in the 90s so the ultimate lineup for me is with Newsted. Trujillo to me is still the guy receiving $1 million up front to join the band in Some Kind of Monster (2003), can't believe it's been that long

Yeah I know who he's played for, great bassist. Still seems like a stranger though

Dude looks like a monkey when he's strumming. It's the weirdest stance I've ever seen for a bassist.

Nevertheless, no Metallica player 80s-2010s has had the stage presence of Newsted.

No, I'm just saying I still don't know him as Metallica's bassist. I only know him from Suicidal Tendencies.

He is fun to watch on stage. Voodoo fest 2012 was one of the best concerts I have ever been to I'm my lifetime.
