Is this an underrated song ? I don't know much about being a vocalist but Sebastain can hit some serious notes in that song.

Properly rated.

Excellent song, and just one of many that shows off Sebastian's range.

Love it. Now and then, when I’ve had a few drinks, it gets played very loud. Sorry, neighbors.

I don’t like hair bands or any of that shite really, but I like this song a lot.

Great song. One of the best guitar solos ever recorded.

I always will hold a special place for Skid Row and this song.

My babysitter growing up in the 80s was a a cute HS girl who was obsessed with them and played them over and over.

Underrated bc IMO it's the best metal ballad of the era. It has it all - progression, solo, vocals, ballad lyrics... But there are many contenders and it's matter of preference.

Great song. Made me leave skid row on spotify for a few

quote:

They call us problem child
We spend our lives on trial
We walk an endless mile
We are the youth gone wild
We stand and we won't fall
We're one and one for all
The writing's on the wall
We are the youth gone wild

Gotta love 80s hair metal lyrics

Yeah I really don't like the hair bands either but you have to appreciate the mans voice.

Used to creep me out how Sebastian's tongue moved in his mouth as the held that last note in the video.

ETA - Dammit, that was the 18 and Life video.

Yeah, my generation missed all of that. The only girls who listened to rock music (other than maybe Panic at the Disco! and Fallout Boy) were all fat, nasty, SJW goth girls. Attractive girls in the late 2000’s and on only listened to pop, country, and/or hip/hop.

I don't think of Skid Row as a hair band. Skid Row, GnR, and maybe Motley Crue are sort of a bridge between hair metal and "real" metal. They are certainly heavier than bands like Poison and Warrant, but not quite as heavy as Metallica or Megadeth. Slave to the Grind is a really heavy album. Pantera's first big arena tour was opening for Skid Row.

Agree, Skid Row was not really Hair Metal. They were pushed to do a couple of Power Ballads. Songs like Slave to the Grind and even Monkey Business were pretty heavy
