I got to play washboard with the Zydeco Roadrunners

Came back home with my wife and kids for the first time in TOO DAMN LONG a few weeks ago. One of the best trips back I've had in years. We usually go for the holidays but at that time of year you can't have a Crawfish Boil or go to a game at Alex Box, both of which we did.

Another thing we did was we went to Cafe Des Amis in Breaux Bridge for the Saturday morning Zydeco Breakfast. The morning we went Leroy Thomas and the Zydeco Roadrunners were playing and they were absolutely fantastic!!!

I think the highlight of the trip for me was probably when Leroy saw me in the crowd playing along on a Zydeco washboard tie. I was just out there having a great time, doing my best to stay in time. Never played a washboard before. Next thing I knew he was calling me up to the stage and I wasn't about to pass it up. Had no idea at the time but my wife videoed it. Then later on my son uploaded it.

If you like it that's great and if not.... Oh well. I had a damn good time anyway!!!
