How long until artists revolt and completely destroy Spotify?

A ton of my favorite artists are refusing to add their new music on there and say that they make more money giving their music away for free than they do streaming it on Spotify.

I canceled my subscription yesterday.

I is a little uneasy in this new digital environment.

It sucks because it is both the best way for fans to afford new music and the worst way to support your favorite artists. I read that they only get paid roughly $15 for every million plays. That is highway robbery.

Are they saying that if they give away their music for free on their own website, then people will be more inclined to buy the album? Hmmmmm...maybe?

Trying to make money off your albums in todays world is a fools plan anyway

Let them have your music for whatever you can get for it, so you gain popularity and make your money touring. Its the only way youre going to survive

I give a weird look to people that use the CD player in their car or say they want to go buy a CD

And CDs are still like 10 plus bucks last time i glanced in that section at a store. I cant even fathom paying 10 bucks for 13 or so songs. Seems so ridiculous.
