How do you organize your Spotify music?

I'm not necessarily an OCD person but I feel I'm getting to the point on my Spotify app that my music collection is aggravating me.....
I started with playlists then it's basically just became every song I like on the app ends up in the your music -songs Location.
What is everyone else's organizing strategy?

I organize mine by playlists for certain situations (i.e. music for listening to on the porch, tailgate playlist, etc).

Just one big playlist. If I hear a song i dig, i just add it to it. I think it has about 1000 songs. I'll go months w/o hearing a particular song.

basic structure is:
My Playlists - stuff I like - organized by folders: jazz, country, rock, etc. You could also do moods, driving songs, etc
Subscribed - playlists I'm subscribed to
Recommended - I use this for albums that I want to check out sometime in the future.

I keep a playlist for stuff I'm interested in during the year, then create a new playlist for every following year. It makes it interesting to go back to 2014 and see what I was listening to then. I also keep a similar party playlist by year, which has more accessible tunes. Lastly, I keep a master Xmas music playlist which I add to each year.

I have a "starred" playlist that I've been adding songs to for the last 3-4 years. It's basically just a huge playlist (I think like 8-9 days worth) of songs I've heard over the years that I liked for one reason or another.
Also have a "discover" playlist that is songs that I like from my discover weekly playlist that spotify makes. This is my primary method of learning about new artists/songs.
Also have a "party" playlist, a "chill" playlist
Also have running playlists of my favorite songs from a given year
I also have a ton of playlists that are simply albums that I like
Spotify fricking rules

I like how it creates a year end list of the top 100 songs you played.
then I have categories:
jazz
funk
blues
influences
best live performances
and so on.

shite, I just got Spotify, and there is no organization. I just search for whoever I want every time and then find an album. Sounds like I am doing it wrong.

I do that too, but making playlists is fun as well

Besides the main set which is unorganized, I have been Be for the gym, studying, relaxing, gaming, driving, and my top songs of 2016 playlist.

I have a few play lists by genre and a few by mood.
I'm generally an album listener though.

This.
I have a tailgate playlist that I clean out and update every summer, one for the annual river trip w/ the baws, one for the beach, one for when we play golf and then aside from those I also have genre playlists.
I don't trust many people's choice of music though so I'm super anal about it haha

I make playlists of albums. That's pretty much it. Silly since I can just search for the albums, but I like to open up my playlists and see albums. Otherwise I forget albums that I want to listen to.

When you pull up an album you like, hit the "Save" button on it. Then it will be in your library and simple to pull up.
I have a big playlist of stuff I like that a diverse group can enjoy/tolerate at parties.
Also have a few playlists for particular artists (Bowie, Neil Young, McCartney, etc.) that are collections of my favorite songs by them.
And I follow a few playlists put together by others. One is Memorial Day BBQ with a crowd pleasing collection of 400 hits from 60s to 80s (but I later made my own version of that). The Rolling Stones Best 500 Songs of All Time is also handy.
It's a helluva lot easier to make playlists on your PC than on a phone.

Oh the time you can spend with playlists. I have them built by artists and Year. Then I have themed ones (workout, live songs, covers, etc). I love the starred feature as that is my most liked songs that go to on the reg.

I just throw everything in one playlist. I have close to 900 tracks in there now and need to whittle it down. There are so many songs in there that when they come on I think, "What the hell was I thinking when I added THAT?"

I honestly use the crap out of the Daily Mixes as well. They do a pretty awesome job with those and Discover Weekly.

Any advantage to Spotify Premium as far as all of this playlist organization, or can you do anything you want without it? I usually just play albums or daily mixes myself.
