Saw on Twitter today that King Diamond and Exodus will be coming to New Orleans November 15. Playing the Civic Theatre. It seems like a lot of bands are hitting Nola now since the theatre reopened. A lot of these tours used to skip right over us when going from Texas to Florida. Hopefully more will keep coming.
King Diamond will play the Abigail album in its entirety btw!

Its another Sunday show but you never know when or if you'll get another chance to see the King so I have to go. Also interesting that both of this year's Mayhem Fest headliners will have played the Civic.

The Civic is getting it done. Hoping Lamb of God comes to town after they finish touring with Slipknot.

Civic and Champions Square have both brought in bands that haven't this area in a long time. That's great to see. I'm hoping for a LOG show at the Civic next year too.

These fricking Sunday shows are killing me. I live in Baton Rouge so driving down and back isn't that convenient for people who have to be at work for 8 the next morning.

I really want to see High On Fire at One Eye Jack's, but it's the same issue.

I saw that King Diamond was booked but I didn't realize that Exodus would be supporting him. Now I am kind of interested.

Damn right they are. I just wish they could book some bands who are prominent right now.

Mastodon is the best booking thus far, and I like that they are playing with Corrosion of Conformity. However, I'm fricking jealous of the South American dates of Mastodon's tour because they will be playing with Go-fricking-jira. I would kill to see those guys live.

Plus, Mastodon and Judas Priest are playing together on a number of North American tour dates. I almost wanted to see Priest play in Biloxi but I just couldn't shell out $110 for a ticket to see a band twenty years past its prime.

I'm driving all the way to Houston next month just to make sure I could see them.

Sounds like you and I have a lot of the same musical interests. High on Fire is another show I would like to see. I think I'm more pumped about Exodus than King Diamond. Been waiting for them to come around for a long time. I'm also hoping, with new albums dropping soon, Testament and Megadeth come somewhere close. Saw Slayer at the Civic...it was awesome!

Too small for them, it would be at CS.

Go see Mastodon if you can. Saw them and Machine Head in Biloxi a couple years ago. Great show.

I already procured tickets. I could kick myself for missing out on Machine Head when they played at the House of Blues. The only time I have seen them live was for a set on one of the side stages at Mayhem. It was only about a 30-minute performance.

@StAmant Steve - did you miss when Gojira opened for Mastodon end of last year? They may not have come through NOLA but it was sick as hell. Gojira is a beast live - their drummer is ridiculous; and Mastodon ended the set with the strippers from the video twerking on stage. was pretty classic
but they aren't playing ATL for this upcoming tour w/ COC. So I'm either coming into NOLA for Halloween or Birmingham the next night, although I have a feeling they won't be quite as good after a late night set in NOLA

Would be cool to see King Diamond for sure but I'm really jealous about Exodus. It's been some time now since they've come through Jax. Seven years to be exact. Plus, Souza's back with them, which would be cool to see again.

And speaking of jealousy... I'm VERY jealous about the Civic. You sonzabitches got it goin' on over there with that place.

No, I didn't see that concert. Hell, I didn't even hear about it. I'm constantly checking Gojira's tour dates and it seems like the never play in North America.

I just did some research and apparently the closest that tour came to Louisiana was Dallas. shite, I might have made that trip just to see Gojira.

Both of the Duplantier brothers are killer. As far as I am concerned, Joe has some of the best vocals in the business right now.

I'm in the same boat for the Mastodon/COC tour. Will likely drive to Bham. Iron City is a great venue
