Toto
the guitar parts on Beat It (basically all of Thriller)
Lionel Richie's Running With The Night
guitar solo on Olivia Newton-John's Physical
George Benson's Turn Your Love Around(Grammy Award)
numerous live contributions to legendary artists like Stevie Wonder, etc

Basically the Jimmy Page of his generation, so many tracks he contributed guitar to it's staggering

Love Steve Lukather! Very underrated, IMO. I always thought it was pretty cool that he did most of the guitar work on Beat It (along with EVH who did the solo). If you haven't heard Toto's "Absolutely Live" album, check it out. He's amazing.

His guitar tone is so incredible and he's so versatile in what he plays too, almost like a great jazz musician

Have you heard any of Neal Schon's solo work? He's got the smooth jamz.

No, but if his Journey work is any indication he has a phenomenal tone and is very dexterous

As I mentioned on here once......he was 19 when he recorded the first Toto album. I was down voted and mocked.

THE rock guitarist of his generation.

Echoplexing the praise and simultaneously showing my age ... his old "Star Licks" instructional VHS tape from '85 was one of my first real exposures to what being a true guitar badass is all about.

Despite being the "Porcaro Family Musical Project" - kind of scary how much raw talent moved through that band - Jeff Porcaro and Lukather alone - those are arguable top 5 session drummer and guitarist of the '70s and '80s, easily. Some folks will have either or both of these guys as their #1 session musician of that era.

Guy still has it after 40 years.

Somewhere Larry Carlton smiles.
