Csb. About 20yrs ago I saw Hank Jr at a fairground in Ladson, SC. He was so wasted he could hardly sit on the stool and sing. 3rd or 4th song in he did rowdy friends and stood up and horse farted mid song. the mic didnt pick it up but all of us near the stage did. so gross. a song or two later his handlers pulled him off stage

Yep, Jr. liked to get shitwrecked before shows. Here's the now infamous audio of opening night on his Budweiser Tour at Sandstone Amphitheater in K.C.

Apparently he had been partying hard with Derrick Thomas all day, at one point he drug him out on stage.

I agree. Now days, looking back, he was "almost" Southern Rock.

Not better or worse than his daddy or son, but different. I like all three.

Absolutely agree. Jr. ranks among the greats. Have seen him 2 dozen times, 1 bad show in all that time. Hank Jr concerts in the 80's and 90's were events. He doesn't get near enough credit as a songwriter. CBCS - greatest country song of all time.
