I loved their music before they turned into liberal counts.

Traveling soldier is still one of my favorites. How that song came from them liberal POS's is beyond me.

Because they are good musicians and song writers?

I don't agree with all the shite out of Eddie Vedders mouth, but I'd be damned if I'd let politics keep me from seeing my personal GOAT band.

I feel bad for people that do.

I guess that did come across a little harsh. Yes, they're great musicians, but I'll never buy one of their tickets. And no need to feel bad for me.

I saw them a few times in Dallas bars years ago before they went corporate and fired most of the band in favor of more image conscious chicks. I'm a liberal......they are a highland park diva version of a liberal......which means they voted for Reagan and Bush Sr and Bush Jr. The first go round.

There are some genuinely fricked up folks when it comes to this subject.

It says a lot about Country Music, because the Chicks at their peak were the best thing Country had going for it. They could cross over without changing their sound like some blonde skinny chick whose name rhymes with Baylor Rift.

Then the supposed patriots took what is the most american of ideals, political dissent, and villified it. In the process they killed the goose that laid the golden records.

I will bet you dollars to donuts the same people burning Chicks records were a few years later talking about how ashamed they were to have Obama as President.

They need to heed their own advice and have a big bowl of shut the frick up.

They got silly with politics, but all I would care about is if they made the ticket price and time worthwhile.

They were really sweet and fun on the Texas college circuit back in the day.

I don't have a dog in this fight; I'm not a fan of country music, but I'm of a certain age (in my 50's), and to speak disparagingly of your president in a time of war on foreign soil, despite your beliefs, is unforgivable IMO.

I am the same age basically, and I will respectfully disagree with you.

Treason, or comfort/aid to the enemy, i am with you on that, but there is no way this rises to that level.

I love Steely Dan and I can only guess that "our" politics would differ. I've seen them live 4 times and not once have they said anything political. Any artist that feels the need to amp up their crowd by talking politics at a live show, is covering for something they don't have musically.

I'm not paying money to hear your political views.

I'm your age and couldn't disagree more. Your kind of thinking is what allows dictatorships to flourish.

Literally the most stupid, ridiculous thing I've read on this site in 15+ years.
