Just learned this song for a wedding gig and its freaking beautiful. I mean I've heard it a million times but to sit down, learn and look at the progression it's pure genius. It goes places vocally you would never expect or consider would make sense.

Lyrically.. no... it's good though...

It's not hard to perform once you know the progression just perfection on the music side. I agree with you on the lyrics though.

The Beatles' "Here, There And Everywhere" was inspired by this song. John Lennon and Paul McCartney heard Pet Sounds at a party and went back to Lennon's house to write it. Paul McCartney called "God Only Knows" "The greatest song ever written."

Great Song! Y'all need to go see Love and Mercy in theaters now. It is an awesome movie that shows a lot of the behind the scene stuff that went into making Pet Sounds.

Good Vibrations is the Beach Boys best song. Cool as hell bridge in that one. This one always came across as sappy to me. And Top Five? No fricking way.
