Mutha fricka makes his guitar cry from the bottom of his soul.

It's like there is no one else in that room with him as he's shredding that guitar. First time I heard that solo, I honestly thought it was Prince.

He was incredible. His guitar has so much more soul than Clapton and the like.

I bought his solo LP 'Back on the Streets' in the late 70's, early 80's, and I always loved the song, Parisienne Walkways' with Phil Lynott. His guitar tone and phrasing in the song still gives me chills, especially when he holds that long note right before the solo.

I saw Roy Buchanan play The Messiah Will Come Again at least 30 times. The emotion that he could create from bending notes was mesmerizing. This was from a 1976 Austin City Limits LINK
