Some band or artist who you feel is criminally underrated or just someone you feel strongly enough about to share with others.

Here's mine:

Band - Groove Armada

look me in the eye sister

Compilation - The Trip (selected the Jarvis Cocker one but they're all great)

The Trip : Curated by Jarvis Cocker

The greatest American band you never heard of, The Silos were Uncle Tupelo before Uncle Tupelo was Uncle Tupelo.

Just get their album Cuba

The Archers of Loaf have a terrible name, but they are the great Return to the Underground of indie rock. None of this ball-less, soulless whining that passing for indie, I'm talking the sons of post-hardcore.

Go buy Vee Vee. Turn the amp up to 11.

I'll throw out Clem Snide who have been around since 1991 although really it's mostly one guy. Technically Alt Country though I don't really think of them as that. Hard to describe. Musically very catchy with very good musicianship and a lot of attention to the arrangements. Lyrically very sarcastic and caustic with dark humor throughout. The go to album is:

Moment in the Sun was a minor hit though few people realize that it is a parody of a Jewel song. In that context it is funny as hell as are a lot of their songs. Moment in the Sun

Your Favorite Music is also very good and Meat of Life is solid.

Compilation album - not sure if this is what you have in mind but

It was produced by Emmylou Harris and has some very solid performances by a variety of bands from the Pretenders to Wilco to Elvis Costello to The Cowboy Junkies.

And I agree with Kafka - The Silos "Cuba" is very good.

Guts - Freedom. This album is just really solid from start to finish. He is french, and just one guy, which probably is why no one has ever heard of him. Everyone i have introduced him too has loved him.

Nigeria Special: Nigerian funk from 197-76. In the 70s, Lagos exploded with Funk and there was some incredible music created in this time, not just Feli Kuti - but the whole scene was blending funk, jazz and afrobeat in new ways. Its really quite addictive.

I think Primal Scream is underrated (at least in the US).

If you like Clem Snide, and you should because they are awesome, pick up Eef Barzelay's solo album Lose Big.

I just listened to Vee Vee and White Trash Heroes and they are great! Listening to All the Nations Airports now, thanks for the recommendation

All Nations Airport is a lot softer and far more experimental. Just a bit of a warning on that one, it's not everyone' cup of tea.

Oh, and we got this far and you haven't listened to Icky Mettle, which has most of their "hits". Web in Front and Plumb Line are classics.

Giving it a try now (listening and pirating "Wrong"...so far, decent).

To me, it's Seaweed meets Dinosaur, JR. Do you see that?

*Music wise, you and CDawg are my go to guys.

I think the band Stars is underrated.

Here is one of many many songs I like.

And, why not, here is one more

Set Yourself On Fire is a good album to start with.
