outside of grohl, nirvana wasn't really that talented.

I was thinking the same thing. Same with Neil Young. Neither of their names came up in the "overrated" thread.
Kurt Cobain and Nirvana is the obvious answer on the board. Among hipsters, it's the Pixies. It's sort of de rigeur to dog the Pixies as not that influential. No, they were. And they were awesome.
