I bought an acoustic guitar last week and had a Bagg Element installed. I plugged the guitar in for the first time today and the High E string was hot–the louder sound of that string compared to the others was noticeable to me and my two band mates. I'll talk to the guy who installed the Element about this, but I wondered if anyone on this board has a thought as to what's wrong. Thanks.

A week late, but you wrote about having the Element installed...did you have a preamp installed, too (or is one embedded in that pickup?)?
If so, which kind? If not, how is it being EQ'd? I've always found that acoustics require more fine EQing than electrics. Also important, what are you playing through? An 8" speaker is going to give you way less low end (or perceived more high end, depending on how you look at it) typically than a 10" or 12". Basically, start from guitar --> output and explain your setup if you don't mind. That's the easiest way to get an answer/ find the problem. Could be as simple as playing with the amp, mixer, or pedal's settings.

ETA: looks like the Element is active (needs a battery) with its own preamp, but the EQ is separate. So these questions remain:
1)how are you EQing the signal from the guitar to the amp,
2)the amp to the speaker, and
3)what is the speaker itself?
