Electric guitar wormhole?

I have decided to buy a guitar for my son for Christmas or birthday. Willing to shop and wait.
Thoughts are an ST-RSX guitar package. It is a Strat Copy. I am thinking full sized. My son will grow into it.
Anybody have any thoughts on other good intro Strat copies? Under $200 is my thought. Agile Guitars interest me, and I am on Craigslist all the time as well as Guitar Center.
What is a good intro amp? Under $100 reasonable? I would like the option of having it compatible with apps and the effects that those apps can add to the guitar. Without dropping cash on pre-amps and pedals and all that shite.
Go....

Fender Frontman is the perfect entry level amp. You can probably find a used one on Craigslist for around $40. They typically come in a package with Squire starter packs.

Cool. The squire starter is on my list too.
I mentioned in the other thread that a gold guitar is preferred and red is the only other acceptable answer for my 6 year olds tastes.

If you want a great first amp for your son the Orange Micro Terror Head and PPC108 Cabinet is great. I bought one for myself it's something small but clear and loud as hell (my condolences) it has a headphone outlet but great amp and head he could keep a long time. For $249 it's great deal but you could possibly find it for less.

The Squier stuff is hard to beat IMO,and if your kid is technology savvy, the Fender Mustang amps with downloadable sound apps would probably work for him.
Not sure if I would do something with a whammy bar at first though.

Then for ME!!!???
Later. What is the best Strat that is not a Fender? SX, Dan Musser, Washburn, Yamaha, and on and on and on....
I may just do more research on the mentioned Agile LP Style guitars... But not red or gold. My son will be pissed.
I need some help. When you spend more time online shopping for shite, than you do taking the online/youtube lessons you SHOULD be taking, it's a problem.

Those are great amps but mighty loud. They seem to go from 0 to 11 in an instant. That one may piss you off as a parent . Try and find a peavy bandit or a marshall lead 12 via reverb.com or craiglist or guitar center. Those are two great solid state amps he would keep for the rest of his life if he enjoys guitar.

I have a Peavey model 23 guitar along with a Peavey Vypyr 15 watt modeling amp I was thinking about listing on ebay early next week. Guitar has 24 frets, single hotrod humbucker, and a reverse headstock and comes with a gig bag and both are in mint condition. The amp has an 8" speaker with 24 channels and 11 amp rack effects, its a cool little loud arse amp. Only want $150 for the package. Also have some beginning guitar books and dvds I'll in. If your interested I'll let give ya a heads up before I list it as in day and time. Hope I aint violating some TD rules by this post
