The Gentle Giant. RIP. Smooth voice and underrated. One of the greats.

Dang. R.I.P.

One of my very favorite singers. Had a few buddies tour with him over the years, and they all mentioned what a wonderful guy he was.

An old friend and co-worker once told me "There ARE no bad Don Williams songs".

Melancholy moment. Spent a lot of time as a kid fishing for bream in a pond while listening to Don Williams

ain't gonna marry in the fall I ain't gonna marry in the spring
Cause I'm in love with a pretty little girl who wears a diamond ring
And I'm just a country boy money have I none
But I've got silver in the stars
And gold in morning sun gold in morning sun

Never gonna kiss the ruby red lips of the prettiest girl in town
Never gonna ask her if she'd marry me I know she'd turn me down
Cause I'm just a country boy

Never could afford a store bought ring with the sparkling diamond stone
All I could afford is a loving heart the only one I own
Cause I'm just a country boy

Williams did the best redefinition of Amanda too.

Love Don Williams, can't stand that song. So the hottest girl in town isn't in to you, boo hoo, stop being a whiny little bitch

RIP. Loved Don Williams.

He dipped his hand into acting too.

W. W. & The Dixie Dance Kings with Burt Reynolds, Jerry Reed and Art Carney. Good redneck flick.

Don was timeless. In my top 10 country singers. I have a Don Williams pandora station. It will be sad now. RIP Gentle Giant.

RIP, Don Williams. One of my favorites with so many good songs - "Tulsa Time", "Lord, I Hope This Day is Good", "If Hollywood Don't Need You".....and on and on and on....there are no bad Don Williams songs.

He really was one of the guys that defined Texas music.....made it cool......the new guys are inspired by him but they don't have half the talent he had.

Great guitar player too.
I saw him in a documentary once, apparently he was a sasquatch hunter too. That just made me like him even more.

The rare opportunity to bump two (2) Don Williams threads back to back.

Rake and Ramblin' Man

I'm kind of embarrassed to say, but I always thought the name of this song was "Do I Look Like a Daddy to You" until I just looked it up on Youtube.
